Our return to work this year has been rather a slow one, as we too were affected by the snow, ice and extreme temperatures at the beginning of the New Year. Planting has been impossible, hard landscaping halted due to sub zero termperatures and even Jim's hedgelaying came to a standstill as the extreme weather made laying frozen branches problematic to say the least! At least we have had some exciting designs on the drawing board to keep the HASKETT team busy.
Now that the ground has thawed work has resumed and the HASKETT team are looking forward to a promising year. Keep watching for regular updates of some amazing landscaping projects that we are lucky enough to be involved in and also for seasonally themed features that may help you have a great year in your own garden.

- Haskett Ltd was formed in 2000 by Jim Wallden and his father, Richard. Jim had read Countryside Management at Uni and Richard had retired as a director of Barclays. The company is based in Fyfield, Essex ‘Haskett’ is an old country word for the seed pod from a Field Maple and our tree logo from an Inuit carving contains three ‘hidden’ faces. We felt that the combination of the two emphasised our countryside origins and our desire to work with clients and nature. Over 9 years, we have been invited to become engaged in some delightful garden designs and landscaping. The company now employs more than ten young people full time and is rapidly developing its skills and product range. At the same time Jim, now a Master Hedgelayer is often booked 12 months ahead for his winter countryside work. Our newest business, GROWAN green composts, follows this theme with its development of high quality peat free composts. As a team, we are genuinely concerned about the destruction of the peat bogs which comprise such a rich environmental and irreplaceable asset.
